I’m lucky to be joining fantastic friends (and a couple of people I’m yet to get to know that well – sure a few days on the mountain will fix that!!) on this challenge to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.
John Street
John Street is the man who got me involved in the challenge and is someone I have got to know through BNI.
And I have to say, if there’s one man who I’ve met through BNI Birmingham and Coventry that has had the biggest impact, it has to be John Street – a man who selflessly gives all he can to help affect the lives of the families of Nechells Birmingham through his charity work with free at last! I’ve known John for a little over a year now, and have got involved with helping the charity in any little way I can, so when I spoke to John a few weeks ago about joining on a rather amazing challenge with the charity, I had to make it happen!
Hear more about John Street and his work within Free@Last and why we’re all about to head out to Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro!
Nikky Brand
One of the two fabulous ladies who are part of the team for #Kili2019 is the amazing Nikky Brand from Kingston Noble Career Consultancy. Like most of the group climbing Africa’s highest mountain, Nikky is a fellow member of BNI in Birmingham, and does so much for the fabulous charity free at last. After meeting John Street 5 years ago, Nikky has climbed the Three Peaks along with many other crazy challenges, but #Kilimanjaro is definitely going to be the big one! We are going to make one great team getting each other to the top!!
Hope you enjoy hearing more about Nikky’s story, and if you want to donate to Nikky’s free at last JustGiving please head to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nikkyb ]
Steven Quance + Ollie Cooper
Two of the team I’m climbing Kilimanjaro with, Steven Quance and Ollie Cooper!
Hear about their story and why they’re climbing Kilimanjaro this October, and why they’re raising money for their charities.
You can donate to Steven’s Help Harry Help Others Cancer Charity appeal at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraisin… and Ollie’s Dorothy House appeal at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Oliver-Cooper-Kilimanjaro
Naomi Spencer
It’s a pleasure to introduce you to the other lady on the #Kili2019 challenge, a true Nechell’s girl – the fabulous Naomi Spencer from Candy Bubbles! Naomi has been part of free at last since before it began – having known John for a little over 20 years 😉
Hear Naomi’s story and why she’s climbing Mt Kilimanjaro next week with the rest of our team, and why donating to help the work of the charity is so important. If together we can all help eradicate child poverty it’s got to be worth every ounce of effort to climb that mountain.
To donate to Naomi, please head to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/naomi-spencer1
Nigel and Alex Evans
Nigel is climbing Kilimanjaro alongside his son Alex, both raising money for free at last. Having spent a day on a training walk with Nigel, I cannot wait to spend many an hour on Kili – we have one great team, who are going to help each other every step of the way!
If you want to add to Nigel’s fundraising pot and help him achieve that goal of £1500, please head to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nigel-evans15
